HWS08 Vorona Airborne Strike Warsuit
One of the rare suits built and assigned under Haven itself, the Vorona is another joint project between various companies. Throughout the Homeworld Conflict, it served in a great deal of battles, even though it was only piloted by special forces teams.
Built as a high-speed strike unit, the Vorona was not designed to withstand fire. Instead, it depended upon stealth and an aggressive weapons loadout, coupled with the obvious benefit of an alternate form, to outclass its foes.
The Vorona was one of the first warsuits built able to alter its form; in this case it could transform into a mode similar to a fighter jet, giving it greater atmospheric speeds and a higher combat range. In its "fighter" form, the Vorona attached its rifle to the underside of the torso, allowing it to put its entire complement of firepower forward.
In addition to a high-velocity rifle engineered for air combat, the Vorona also carried a modernized physical blade designed for "passing swings" at targets. Mounted on either hip are launchers for 240KG multi-purpose missiles, with 8 projectiles each. Mounted in the chest are dual 9 centimeter machine cannons, to provide saturation fire while in fighter form.
This particular Vorona is marked with a Haven Officer's rank insignia, seen on the right chest. In strike operations, this suit would lead the assault from the rear, using more optimized sensory equipment to ensure a proper flight path to the target. Although equipped with communications and sensors exclusive to the wing leader's suit, no alternative model designation was given.
Of course, this did not mean that certain Haven pilots weren't able to register their own custom configurations. Being a highly versatile unit in the right pilot's hands, the Vorona was a popular choice for higher-ranking Haven officers.
